Shoba Mohan MBA [CEO, Board member, ACVA’s Success Leader]
Upon retirement as a banker, Shoba Mohan, MBA, joined the ACVA family. She believes that Vedic Astrology links Cosmic energies with humans. Her inspiration was her mother, who was an extremely well-read palmist and numerologist, one who had a chance to study many famous palms in her time. Shoba enjoys teaching, coaching, and contributing as the CEO of ACVA.
Shoba received ACVA’s Jyotish Seva Award in 2015 and Jyotish Navaratna Award in 2019.
Most of her work in Astrology has been via in-person lectures and instructional videos. She has spoken at various seminars, including the International United Astrology Conference at Chicago, 2018, where she spoke on Nakshatras, noteworthy to Western and other astrologers.
Shoba is a mother of 2 girls and a grandmother of 4, she spends her spare time traveling around the globe with her husband Krishna. They live in Redmond, WA. As the current CEO of ACVA, Shoba would love to hear from you at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Charlotte Benson (Jyoti Devi) [Board member, President, ACVA’s External Relations Leader]
Charlotte has received the “Jyotisha Choodamani” from the Raman Foundation in Bangalore; the “Jyotish Kovid” award from the I.C.A.S.; and the “Jyotish Navaratna” award from ACVA. Ramdas Bill Sinclair MSW [Board member, ACVA Creativity Leader]
Ramdas Bill began studying Vedic Astrology in 2002 with Ronnie Dreyer and continues his studies under the guidance of Komilla Sutton. He holds a Level 1 Jyotisha Ratna™ Essentials of Jyotish Certification from the American College of Vedic Astrology. He was also awarded the Jyotish Shastri Diploma from Komilla Academy of Vedic Studies in Chandigarh, India.
Ramdas Bill has lectured at many international Vedic Astrology Conferences in India, UK and the USA. He provides individual consultations and private Jyotish Tutoring as well as Jyotish instruction in advanced topics.
In 2019 Ramdas Bill joined the Leadership Team for the American College of Vedic Astrology and also serves as a Faculty Member. Ramdas Bill has his Masters in Social Work from NYU and maintains a private therapy practice in Seattle, Washington.
Dr. Lynn Bootes, MD [Registrar, Instructor Leader]
Dr. Lynn Bootes began her connection with Western Astrology in 1970. After some very productive years as an MD practicing Family Medicine in group practice, she has enjoyed retirement from medicine while coming back to her roots in astrology. She found Jyotish through a course offered by Dennis Harness at Kepler college in 2006, and decided to complete the AVCA Jyotish RatnaTM and Jyotish PrabhakaraTM certifications in 2008 and 2010 while completing her AA and MA in the history of Cosmology at Kepler College in 2012. She completed the Vedic Astrology CoachingTM certificate in 2013. She also holds certifications in western astrology from NCGR. More details of her Jyotish background are presented in the instructor profile below. Lynn joined the Leadership Team in the fall of 2020 and is delighted to be able to perform a role of service to the tradition which has given her so much. She particularly enjoys teaching students, giving consultations and writing about Jyotish, and brings her experience as a volunteer and team member in her profession, church and community.
Julene Louis [Curriculum Leader]
Julene Louis, Jyotish Visharada (CVA), and ISAR-CAP has been a practicing and teaching astrologer for over twenty years. Beginning as a Western astrologer, her interest in Jyotish came through her independent study of Yoga and Vedic philosophy. Passionate about the night sky, she writes the Sky Watch column for The Mountain Astrologer magazine and co-founded The Sky Astrology Conference.
Julene was honored and excited to be asked to be a part of ACVA’s Leadership Team working with the curriculum. Currently she is working behind the scenes with the organization and flow of the Learning Management System.
