Charlotte has received the ‘Jyotisha Choodamani’ from the Raman Foundation in Bangalore; the ‘Jyotish Kovid’ award from the I.C.A.S.; and the ‘Jyotish Navaratna’ award from ACVA. In recognition of her outstanding background and experience in Vedic Astrology as well as her current standing in the Vedic Astrology community, the ACVA Board of Directors unanimously voted to appoint her as the very first ‘Professor of Jyotish’ of the College. Dr. Sisira Amarasinghe, Ph.D.

Dr. Sisira K Amarasinghe, Ph.D., is an Information Systems Engineering specialist with extensive academic and industrial experience in a range of domains covering Enterprise IT, Biomedical, Automotive, and Industrial Automation. He became interested in Vedic astrology a few decades ago and has been continually pursuing numerous activities relating Vedic astrology including studying, teaching, research, and consulting for more than a decade, initially undergoing his formal studies with Ms. Juliana Swanson.
He was honored by ACVA in November 2021 with the title of ‘Jyotish Navaratna’ for his contribution to the field of Astrology and ACVA. Juliana Swanson is a Vedic astrologer, RN (registered nurse), healer, mother, and wife. She runs her full-time international practice as a Vedic Astrology Consultant and Holistic Wellness Coach from her home office in New Mexico. She additionally works remotely with clients all over the world as a Rebirther/Sacred Breath Coach.
Juliana qualifies as an ACVA Level III certified Vedic Astrologer and Vedic Astrology Coach, and ACVA/CVA Level II certified Vedic Astrologer, receiving multiple titles of excellence: the ‘Jyotish Visharada’, ACVA/CVA (2004) and the ‘Jyotish Kovid’, ACVA/CVA (2007); as well as the ‘Jyotish Navaratna’, ACVA (2022). Additionally, in 2012 she was awarded the ‘Jyotish Kovid’ from the ICAS, Bangalore, India, and received the ‘Jyotish Vachaspati’ in 2017 (Celestial Resource and Academy for Vedic Studies). Juliana is also certified as a Registered Polarity Practitioner and Rebirther and has additional certifications in MahaBote Burmese Astrology and ‘Hast Jyotish’ (Vedic Palmistry). She has served for over a decade on the faculty at the American College of Vedic Astrology, and previously served on the faculty of the International Academy of Astrology. Dr. Lynn Bootes, MD

Dr. Lynn Bootes began her connection with Western Astrology in 1970. After some very productive years as an MD practicing Family Medicine in group practice, she has enjoyed retirement from medicine while coming back to her roots in astrology.
She found Jyotish through a course offered by Dennis Harness at Kepler college in 2006, and decided to complete the AVCA ‘Jyotish Ratna’ and ‘Jyotish Prabhakara’ certifications in 2008 and 2010 while completing her AA and MA in the history of Cosmology at Kepler College in 2012. She completed the Vedic Astrology Coaching certificate in 2013. She also holds certifications in western astrology from NCGR. More details of her Jyotish background are presented in the instructor profile below. Lynn joined the Leadership Team in the fall of 2020 and is delighted to be able to perform a role of service to the tradition which has given her so much. She particularly enjoys teaching students, giving consultations, and writing about Jyotish, and brings her experience as a volunteer and team member in her profession, church and community.
Julene Louis, Jyotish Visharada (CVA), and ISAR-CAP has been a practicing and teaching astrologer for over twenty years. Beginning as a Western astrologer, her interest in Jyotish came through her independent study of Yoga and Vedic philosophy. Passionate about the night sky, she writes the Sky Watch column for The Mountain Astrologer magazine and co-founded The Sky Astrology Conference.
Julene was honored and excited to be asked to be a part of ACVA’s Leadership Team working with the curriculum. Currently she is working behind the scenes with the organization and flow of the Learning Management System.
