1993

The American Council of Vedic Astrology was started in 1993 in alliance with Dr. B.V. Raman and the Indian Council of Astrological Sciences, (ICAS).

1995

The Council registered as a non-profit 501(c)(6) trade organization on April 5, 1995.

1999

In 1999, the American Council of Vedic Astrology Board of Directors voted to create the American College of Vedic Astrology™ and have it carry the designation of ACVA. ACVA gained the status of a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization on November 22, 1999.

2003

In 2003, the Council changed its name to the Council of Vedic Astrology or CVA. CVA was originally renamed to support its function as a membership organization working co-actively with ACVA as a learning organization.

2010

In 2010 CVA announced it was expanding its role to offer separate educational, certification, and membership opportunities within its own network of recognized teachers. Today ACVA and CVA have evolved to share a common goal of supporting Vedic education, and carry out their missions as separate organizations.
